Medis Introduces Next-Generation Coronary Tree Reporting at TCT 2008

LEIDEN, the Netherlands -- October 8, 2008 -- Quantification software supplier Medis medical imaging systems bv is to introduce its time-saving Coronary Tree Reporting (CTR™) module to the cardiology community at the TCT 2008 next week. CTR will become available as an optional add-on to Medis' QAngio® XA software for the analysis of X-ray angiograms, which also comprises the world-standard QCA-CMS™  software for cardiac catheterization labs.

The CTR module provides fast, intuitive and dynamic coronary tree reporting, as well as automatic generation of natural language reports.

"For cardiologists facing ever more cost-reductions while at the same time cardiovascular disease afflicts a growing percentage of the population, saving time is essential," said Petra A. van den Elsen, MD, PhD, Medis' Vice President Corporate Marketing and Sales. "The CTR module provides a way to speed up reporting."

Unlike conventional tools, which are static, the CTR module enables dynamic creation of coronary tree diagrams, with patient-specific anatomies visualized and updated in no time. The module's natural language reports, which are generated automatically from the coronary tree diagrams, provide full-sentence information. Coronary tree diagrams may be created from scratch or based on QAngio XA quantification analysis results.
