New QAngio® CT Quantification Software Helps Detect Vessel Abnormalities in CTA Studies

LEIDEN, the Netherlands -- September 21, 2006 -- Computed Tomography Angiography presents radiologists and cardiologists with data sets that contain valuable information on vessel abnormalities. To post-process the large quantity of data offered by CTA and quickly detect vessel abnormalities, Medis presents its new software solution QAngio CT.

QAngio CT quickly and reliably quantifies cardiac and peripheral CTA studies, which helps radiologists and cardiologists detect the narrowing or obstruction of arteries and assess the severity of these abnormalities. It minimizes time spent on interpreting CTA data and it is independent of CT scanner brand or type.

Key features include:

  • calculation of stenosis degree, stenosis length and a range of vessel segment data
  • manual or automatic determination of stenosis and reference segments
  • MPR, Curved MPR and 3D views
  • export of analysis results in PDF, DICOM SR and DICOM SC
  • PACS connectivity
For this CT solution, Medis has built on more than fifteen years of experience gained with automated segmentation in cardiac quantification analysis software. The cardiac X-ray equivalent QAngio® XA (formerly known as QCA-CMS™) is the gold standard quantification solution for coronary angiograms. QAngio CT is expected to be available on the US market and in other countries worldwide in Q4, 2006. The product has been cleared for market by the FDA. It will be introduced at the RSNA 2006.
