Corporate History

Medis is a privately owned company, which was founded in 1989 as a spin-off of the Leiden University Medical Center's Division of Image Processing (LKEB), Department of Radiology.

Products

Medis creates software solutions for the medical specialties of cardiology and radiology. Its software covers the imaging modalities MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), X-ray angiography, IVUS (intravascular ultrasound) and OCT (optical coherence tomography) and CT (computed tomography).

Since its foundation, Medis has introduced a range of quantification solutions that have proven their value in clinical practice and research. QAngio® XA and QMass® MR are Medis' flagship products. QAngio® XA incorporates the module QCA-CMS™ that is widely considered the gold-standard solution for quantification of coronary vessels. QMass® MR is used by clinicians and core labs worldwide to help assess cardiac performance.

Medis complies with international standards and regulations to ensure the safety and effectiveness of its products. Medis is an ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2003 certified company, and it has implemented the Software Engineering Institute's CMM® model to control its software development process.
